Summer

Summer is always a time when I worry if we should be doing any kind of school work. I have planned  a few things for the summer for the kids. Nature hikes, garden building, bike riding, swimming, camping, and so much more. However, I'm not sure how well that will pan out. My kids aren't exactly the outdoors kind of kids. They prefer to stay inside and play video games or watch  movies together. However, that is all going to change this year..   Yesterday, I bought our son a new to him mountain bike from Catholic Charities. It is a really nice mountain bike. The best part is that, while if bought in the store, it would cost $180.00, it only cost my $20. He was so excited to get this mountain bike. It was a great surprise for him. Before that, he only had a trick bike. Granted it is a beautiful bike but it doesn't do the functions that his mountain bike does. He is excited to get it cleaned up so that he can try it out. He hasn't really had a chance to do that yet.  I am hoping that he will be able to do that today.

Here's hoping to a great summer and a new bonding experience for my family. I am hoping to hop back on my bike and work off these endless pounds that love me too much.
